The Board of Directors of Northern Region Water Board (NRWB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Francis Edgar Denis Munthali as Chief Executive Officer of NRWB. The appointment is with effect from 4 September 2023.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Munthali acted as Chief Executive Officer for NRWB from January 2023. Mr. Francis Munthali is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). He is a holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration obtained from Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) and has vast management experience obtained from both private and public sectors. Mr. Munthali joined NRWB in 2006 as Director of Finance. Prior to joining NRWB in 2006, Mr. Munthali worked for a multinational energy company, BP Malawi (now PUMA Energy) for a period of nine years, where he held several senior positions. Mr Munthali brings along vast knowledge and experience in leadership, strategic management, financial management, risk management, performance management and organization development coupled with a unique set of skills, perspectives, and relationships to lead NRWB into the future. Building on what NRWB has already accomplished, Mr. Munthali is well placed to further grow NRWB’s business as the Board seeks to realise its vision of ensuring access to potable water for all.
